Linn County Inmate Roster
The main local custody source is the Current Adults in Custody roster from the Linn County Sheriff's Office. The roster is updated several times per day and lists current adults in custody by name and age. It includes a simple "Search for" text filter, which is useful for narrowing a long roster by name or visible roster text. A separate Linn County inmate-search portal exists at inmatesearch.linncounty.org, but the captured page is gated by CAPTCHA and JavaScript before full search access.
The roster is a jail custody source, not a statewide criminal-history report. It will not list every person with a past Linn County case, every state prison inmate, or every person who has been released. Court charges and dispositions should be checked through court records, while sentenced state-prison custody is searched through the Oregon DOC Offender Search. VISOR adds custody-status notification after a person is in a facility.

Use the Linn County Roster
A current custody search works best when the name is spelled as it may appear in law-enforcement records. Try the last name first if the roster is long. If the sheriff roster does not show the person, check whether the person might be released, in a state prison, in another county, or listed under a different name format. For court outcomes, use the court case number from a profile and then search the court system.

Linn County Inmate Profile Fields
A sample Linn adult-in-custody profile inspected in the research showed the practical fields a user may see after opening a roster result. It showed a name and ID, age, lodged date, arresting agency, scheduled release date, and a charge table. The charge table used docket, charge release date, court, security, and status columns. Security could show a dollar amount or "INCLUDED," and status appeared as pending on several charge lines.
No public mugshot appeared on the sample profile. The Linn Sheriff's Office cites Oregon HB 3273, effective January 1, 2022, which restricts law-enforcement release of booking photos to the public. That means the lack of a photo is a local public-record rule, not a sign that the record is incomplete.

Linn County Jail Capacity
The jail opened in May 1989 with 114 beds after replacing the old 24-bed courthouse jail. In 1995, 20 beds were added by double-bunking single-bed cells. The East wing opened in January 1998 with two 48-bed cellblocks, increasing capacity to 230. Budget reductions closed 48 beds on March 1, 2012, bringing capacity down to 182. In April 2015, the jail reopened 48 beds and converted one female housing unit cell to double-bunk status, bringing total capacity to 231 beds.
For 2023, the jail processed 3,771 offenders and had an average daily inmate population of 168. Those numbers are useful context, but they do not answer whether a specific person is in custody today. For that, use the current roster, the CAPTCHA-gated portal, or call the jail if the public tools do not answer the question.

Linn County Inmate Visitation
Visitation depends on the adult in custody visitor list and housing schedule. Each AIC must provide a Requested Visitor list with first, middle, and last name, date of birth, phone number, and home address including city, state, and ZIP. Each AIC may have up to six approved visitors at one time and can update the list on the first of each month. Approved attorneys and clergy do not count against the standard weekly visit limit.
Visits are scheduled by calling 541-812-9212 the day before the desired visit. The scheduling line is open 7:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visitors must check in 15 minutes early and bring government-issued photo ID with photo and date of birth. Each AIC is allowed a maximum of two hours per week, and each visit is no longer than 30 minutes. The visitation week begins Wednesday morning and ends Sunday evening.

Linn County Inmate Mail
Personal mail changed on January 23, 2025. Personal letters, postcards, greeting cards, and similar mail must go to a third-party scanning address for electronic delivery to Linn County Jail. Personal mail sent to the jail after that date is returned. Checks, money orders, and cash should not be sent to the third-party address or the jail. Books from a clearing house or publisher still go to the physical jail address at 1115 Jackson Street SE, Albany, OR 97322.

Phone and tablet rules help families contact an AIC after the current roster confirms custody.
ViaPath provides phone calls, video visits, and messaging. Calls may be monitored or recorded. Phones and tablets are in all housing units, and calls time out after 20 minutes. Voicemail and call blocking use 866-516-0115. Blocking may take up to 24 hours excluding weekends and holidays.
Linn County Inmate Funds
Commissary accounts use CorrectPay. Friends and family can no longer place money directly on phone or tablet accounts, but an AIC can move commissary funds to the internal phone or tablet account. On release, unused commissary and phone-account funds are returned. The jail bail rule changed on April 7, 2026: jail bail must be paid by certified cashier's check made out to the court that set bail, not to the jail.

Linn County Custody Notifications
VISOR is Oregon's custody-status and notification system. It can be searched by full or partial name and can send release, transfer, escape, or death notifications by phone, email, or text. VISOR is useful after a person is in custody, but it is not a pre-arrest warrant search.
